BEVA Congress Grows Again

The British Equine Veterinary Association (BEVA) was thrilled to see further growth in both the number of vets and the number of exhibitors at their annual three-day Congress this year. With approaching 1,000 vets registered and record sales of exhibition space the event continues to go from strength to strength.

BEVA Congress is the largest equine veterinary conference outside the US and its reputation means that it attracts world-class speakers from across the globe. With this calibre of speaker, five concurrent lecture streams blending science and innovation with pragmatic guidance, panel discussions, and practical hands-on teaching BEVA has always been the go-to event for equine vets and mixed practitioners at all stages of their careers.

BEVA reports the number of equine vets and mixed practitioners attending increased by 4% in 2016 with more than a half of all delegates being qualified for more than a dozen years and therefore likely to be directors, partners or senior members of their practice.

David Mountford, CEO of BEVA explains: “It’s a symbiotic cycle – delegates give us 4+ star ratings, 97% would recommend us, and 84% say we provide great value; speakers appreciate the prestige and the made-for-purpose lecture theatres, and the exhibitors get to see the right sort of customers.  Add to this the fact that BEVA is a charitable organisation which ploughs any surplus back into the industry and we’re left with an atmosphere that is unique.”

Professor Roger Smith, Professor of Equine Orthopaedics at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) said: “An invitation to speak at BEVA Congress always gains an immediate yes from me. The lecture facilities are second to none and the engagement rate of delegates is higher than at most other veterinary conferences. The quality and professionalism of its scientific programme is of international repute and it's an unmissable annual fixture for me and many of my peers."

BEVA Congress also continues to glowing reports from exhibitors. William Bedell a Partner at Horse Weigh said: “I have exhibited at BEVA Congress for the past 15 years and can’t fault their friendly, non-pushy approach. The delegate base is 100% relevant to our product portfolio and our return on investment makes it a highly worth while event to attend every year.”

Peter Young, Animal Health Equine Business Development Manager at MSD continued: “Attending BEVA Congress provides a great opportunity for our business to meet with our Equine customers to discuss our products, services and initiatives. Congress exhibition is the hub for the three days and in addition to meetings on our exhibition stand there are many other opportunities for meetings with key decision makers, equine vets and other practice team members.”

Next year’s BEVA Congress will be held on 13-16 September 2017.  You can watch the highlights from 2016 here https://www.beva.org.uk/Home/Education/Congress
